
Lizette graduated from Denfeld High School and received her Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics from the College of St Scholastica. After raising her four daughters she worked in retail and later owned her own window covering business. She loved spending time with her daughters and their families and was active in her church where she was the Catechist. She also enjoyed reading, writing poetry, traveling, researching her genealogy, and searching for agates and other unique rocks.
Lizette was preceded in death by her parents, her son Brice Grinden, and her former husband John Grinden.
She is survived by her daughters Lizette Mitchell (Jim Roebke) of Duluth, MN, Heather (Glen) Mayer of Anamoose, ND, Echo (Kevin) McDonald of Anchorage, AK, and Leah (Randy) Thaden of Henderson, NV; grandchildren Lizette (Adam Fleck) Grinden, Abigail Mitchell, Sean Mitchell, Arianne (Adam) Bartels, Brice (Taylar) Martinovich, Giselle Mayer, Eden Mayer, Jacob (Amanda) McDonald, Alexander McDonald (Chivonna Geanes), Benjamin McDonald, Logan Thaden (Joe LoMedico), and Spencer Thaden; great-grandchildren Rilynn McDonald, Jetta Martinovich, and Lizette Fleck; her sister-like cousins Barbara Tourville and Susanne Schuler; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Special thanks to the staff at Diamond Willow, Proctor and St Croix Hospice for their compassionate and loving care.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm Memorial Service at Trinity Episcopal Church, 4903 Maple Grove Rd, Hermantown, MN.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter, 7900 W 78th St, Suite 100, Minneapolis, MN 55439.
