Lorraine H. Strom

She was born in her home in Duluth on January 31, 1920 to Jenny and Albin Dahl.

Lorraine graduated from Denfeld High School and later from the Duluth State Teacher’s College. She taught in a one-room schoolhouse in Aitkin and in Virginia, MN. She also taught for 35 years in Duluth at Morgan Park, Bryant and Cobb Schools.

On July 3, 1948, Lorraine was united in marriage to Elon Strom in Trinity Lutheran Church. They became members of Concordia Lutheran Church when they moved to Woodland in 1951. She taught Sunday school and was a member of the women’s group.

After retirement, she volunteered with Elon for Meals on Wheels, St. Mary’s Hospital, and the Soup Kitchen.

Lorraine loved gardening and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elon; brothers, William “Scotty” and John.

Lorraine is survived by many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Marge Dahl; and brothers-in-law, Glen (Mary) Strom and Russ Strom.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Concordia Lutheran Church’s endowment fund.

The family would like to thank the staff at Mt. Royal Pines III Assisted Living and the private duty nurses: Cheryl, Joan, Fran, Ana and Mary for the wonderful care given to Lorraine.

Visitation: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Funeral Service, Saturday, April 20, at Concordia Lutheran Church, 2501 Woodland Ave, in Duluth.
