Mary Jane Hansen, 99, of Duluth passed away Friday, May 4, 2018 at Edgewood Vista in Hermantown.

She was born July 27, 1918 to Thomas and Mary (Kucharski) Dunne in Duluth.

Mary married her high school sweetheart, Norman Hansen on August 15, 1942 in Two Harbors. She worked 36 years as a waitress for Hotel Duluth. Upon retirement she was very active in the Eagles, Owls, VFW, and the Red Hat Society. She loved her family, life, sparkle, and traveling. She made beautiful ceramics and generously shared them with her family and many friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; son, Darrell; and daughter, Judith Broman.

She will be greatly missed by her sons, Norman Jr. (Judy) Hansen of St. Joseph, MN and Ron (Shelly) Hansen of Eagan, MN; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Essentia Hospice and Edgewood Vista for the care Mary received in her final days.

Visitation will be 2:00 until the 3:00 p.m. Funeral Service Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Hermantown Community Church, 4880 Maple Grove Road, Hermantown. Interment will be in Park Hill Cemetery.

First of all I am so sorry for your loss. I met Mary Jane through Rae and the Red Hats. She was an amazing person. She always dressed up for everything we went to and she was full of fun. She loved her family. She will be missed greatly by many, many people.
