Peter Mendoza was one of the most charismatic persons I have ever met, and I only met him once at Amanda's high school graduation.  His stories were filled with laughter and personality.  He had a voice that I'm always reminded of when I hear the song "Your Mama Don't Dance" by Loggins & Messina; "There's a light in your eyes and then a guy says 'Out of the car longhair'".  I could swear Peter recorded that sound bite for them.  

You were a hard worker and helped build this great state a little concrete at a time.  Thank you for all you've done to make this world a better place.  You will be missed.

Uncle Pete and my father, Lou, were so close. I remember those many happy times at your cabin as a child; dad and Uncle Pete throwing horseshoes. 

It was an honor to welcome my Uncle Pete to stay at our home in Columbus once. My children loved his humor and his advice about caring for our dog. 

We kept in touch during the Christmas holidays, catching up on the news of family in Duluth. 

Although many, many years have gone by since we've seen each other, please know how deeply we care and love as only family can. 

I and my family extend our deepest condolences to my beloved Aunt Marlene, cousin Marsha and family.

Hi sorryto hear about Pete. Hard to believe he is gone. You have our condolence from my family Lenny, Karen ,Chrissy, Melissa, Karen Jr.,and Lenny jr.  We have always enjoyed having Pete and family here St, Louis.  We always wondered who or what character he was going to be every time he came down. Good Grief... God bless you all.

Pete, there were many miles between you and our family but you were close in our hearts. When my sisters and I were small children you always were part of our play fantasies and brought much laughter into our lives. I pray you have long last found peace and comfort in the arms of our Lord.  And may He bless and ease the grief of Marlene, Marsha and her family.  God bless.

My family and I were devastated to learn of Pete's passing.  Our difficult year continues and we pray that we have the strength to see this through.  He has always been my favorite brother and I will miss him terribly.  He was always strong, patient and peaceful.  My sincere condolences to you, Marlene, Marcia and family.  I hope time will help ease your pain.  After each phone call with Pete, he always told me not to say goodbye, simply see you later...and I believe I will.

So sorry to hear of Uncle Pete's passing. I'll never forget visiting everyone in MN when I was a teenager. Heartfelt condolences to the family. Wishing you all the comfort of togetherness during this hard time.

I am so thankful that my wife and I visited with Uncle Pete just this last summer.  I hadn't been back to my birthplace in 58 years! I was pleasantly surprised how well he and Aunt Marlene were doing when we visited and was deeply saddened at his unexpected passing last week.   Uncle Pete will always be with me though, as my father (Lou) chose Peter as my middle name after his beloved brother.  Thoughts of Uncle Pete take me back to when I was much youngerhe would always make me laugh with his incredible wit.  The other thing I recall is him being the strongest man I knew.  Thanks Uncle Pete for being youyou will be missed.  Our thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

My condolences to the family. I think Uncle Pete visited my Mother Juanita, my sister and me once in the 70's in St. Louis. His memory will live on in the Mendozas. Rest in Peach Tio.

Our family had many wonderful memories of our visits to the lake cabin, swimming in the lake, playing with cousin Marsha, and just enjoying spending time with the family. Pete was a great man. I haven't seen him in many years. I grew up with my grandparents as his neighbor. I remember him as a man with a great sense of humor. He was also a man that would do anything to help family, friends or anyone else for that matter. My condolences go out to his family...
