Raymond Bruce Harnell

Raymond Bruce Harnell, 71, of Gilbert passed away Tuesday, March 17th 2015. Ray was born in Duluth December 13, 1943 to Russell and Lillian (Karjalainen) Harnell. He grew up in Twig and graduated from Proctor High School in 1961. Ray served in the Navy 4 years graduating 1st in his class at the Great Lakes Training Center. He was employed by Erie Mining (LTV) in Hoyt Lakes until his retirement in 1999. Ray always had a nice garden of which he shared the harvest with many. He loved watching the Vikings and the Twins (that probably took some years off his life) and always had the coffee pot on and always made you feel welcome.

He enjoyed parenting his two step children in their younger years. He was thoughtful and kind always sending cards for family birthdays and special occasions. He will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Chuck; and Nephew Brian Harnell.

Ray is survived by his step-children, James (Danielle) Curlee and Tammerly MacDonald; sisters, Sally (Jerry) Ford, and Donna (Richard Cheslik) Stebner; brother, Kenny (Kathy Graham) Harnell; and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation: 10:00 until the 11:00 memorial service Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 6537 Hwy. 7, Twig. A time of lunch and fellowship will follow.
