Robert L. Sinclair

Bob was born in Charlotte, NC on August 4, 1941 to Marcus and Mary Ruth (Atkinson) Sinclair. He graduated from Mecklenberg High School and went on to attend Wingate College. He moved to Duluth in 1970 and went to work for Superwood which is now Georgia Pacific. He retired in 2006. Bob’s absolute passion was woodcarving. He devoted much of his time to creating exquisite carvings of birds and caricatures. Bob had an easy going and friendly nature. He was very active as a member of Peace Church and then Bethany Baptist.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Bob is survived by his children Steven (Linda) Sinclair of Mesa, AZ, Laura (Doug) Olender of Sparta, MI and Brian (Annette) Sinclair of Grayling, MI; 9 grandchildren; siblings, Joyce Waters of Ashville, NC, Marcus (Gwen) Sinclair of Matthews, N.C., Edwin (Linda) Sinclair of Charlotte, N.C. former spouse Chris Sinclair of Sparta, MI as well as numerous other family members and friends.

Memorial service will be held at 2 P.M. on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Bethany Baptist Church 6700 Grand Ave. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
