Rodney Carl Mattson

Age 88 of Duluth, passed on October 3, 2018 at Solvay House.

Rodney was born in Duluth on January 26, 1930 to Carl & Signe Mattson, the youngest of four children.

Rodney worked as a sales person at Johnson Carpet. His true passion was his music, which he shared through teaching and entertaining others.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Millie; son-in-law, Larry Ugstad; and three siblings.

Rodney is survived by significant other Doris Ziebarth; children, Lynn Ugstad, Terry (David) Yates and Scott (Joy); grandchildren, Shelly Westerlund, Amanda (Rich) McMillen, Kaither (Lauren) Holiway; great-grandchildren, Spencer & Addison McMillen; Mary (Kevin) Schroeder; step-daughters, Molly (Scott) Haag and Lisa (Chris) Polson and their children; many loving relatives & friends.

A special thank you to Barb and staff of Solvay House for the care they gave dad. Memorials are preferred to Solvay House.

Funeral Service: Monday, October 8 at 11 am, with visitation one hour prior at Bell Brothers Funeral Home, 601 N. 56th Ave. W, Duluth.
