She was happily married to her husband Edward J. Molitor, who she faithfully served for over 71 years. Ruth had a servant’s heart, and gladly used her gift of “helps” to serve others. She will always be remembered for her willingness to clean up after any kitchen activities. Someone once said, “I hope there are dishes to do in heaven, for it seems to be the place Ruth always finds herself.” Her husband was always proud of her as she possessed many talents, but she was always reluctant to receive any accolades for her efforts.
Ruth was an active member of the Duluth Gospel Tabernacle, serving as the church bookkeeper for over 16 years. She was also the manager of Gift House Stamps for six years and manager of Universal Price Store for an additional two years. Upon retiring from secular work, she became increasingly involved with church functions. She, along with her husband, were directors of a senior group known as “ The Sonshiners”. The two of them worked together, with Ruth assuming the responsibility of food arrangements for the monthly activity and co-editing the monthly newsletter, “The Sonshiner”.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Knute and Margaret Malmquist; her sister, Elly French; and brothers, Leonard Malmquist and Stan Malmquist.
She will be missed by her husband, Edward; children, Nancy J. (David) Larson and Larry D. (Claudia) Molitor; four grandchildren, Todd (Jodi) Molitor, Chad (Angela) Larson, Tina (Steve) Jankowski, and Brett (Casey) Molitor; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Jacob, Ashley, and Grace Molitor; George and Max Molitor; Amariah, Maylea, Jesaias, and Jachin Jankowski; and Cadence, Camden, Eliana, and Edmond Larson.
