

She was born February 7, 1922 in Duluth to Fred and Emma Molyneux. Ruth was a graduate of Morgan Park High School and received a Teaching Certificate from the Duluth Teachers College. On April 21, 1942, Ruth married Wilbert R. Pletcher.
Ruth taught at Stowe and Riverside Elementary schools. She had a great love of music. Ruth played the piano and was the Director of a Children’s Choir and also taught Sunday school. Ruth served as a den mother for the Boy Scouts and was a member of the Eastern Star.
Ruth had a love for traveling. She and Bill would go to New Mexico for the winters. She had her first flying experience only three years ago. Ruth spent a lot of time traveling up the North Shore, camping in the Tofte area and occasionally treating herself to Blue Fin Bay. Her greatest joy was her family, she couldn’t get enough of them.
Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill in 2003; her parents; and her brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Ruth Molyneux.
She is survived by her children, Thomas Pletcher, of Minneapolis, Claudia Maki, of Duluth and Bruce (Ginger) Pletcher, of Duluth; three grandchildren, Mathew (Michele) Pletcher, of New Hope, MN, Michael Maki, of Cloquet and Carrie (David) Dzuck, of Duluth; four great-grandchildren, Makayla, Sophia, Kate and Dane; many special nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
