Sophie married Sidney Kaner, and they were married until his death in 1991. She was a member of Adas Israel Synagogue.
Sophie is survived by her son Robert Kaner; nephews Dr. Benji Goldfarb, Michael Horowitz, niece Ozzie Nogg and their families; special friend Byron Lurye and his extended family; and close friend Shirley Stockman. The family would like to thank Cindy Turnquist for her care and friendship.
Private family services will be held. A reception in Sophie’s honor will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at the Pickwick Restaurant, 508 E Superior St., Duluth.
