

Stanley was a decorated veteran, having served as a Bombardier in the US Air Force, during WWII.
After High School, he attended Tulane University and then attended and graduated from UMD, where he starred in football alongside Dan Devine.
Stanley was united in marriage to Peggy Marshall in January of 1955. He was widowed in 1964 and raised his five children on his own.
Stanley was employed as a Statistician at MN Power for many years until his retirement.
He was an avid golfer and also loved reading and gardening.
Stanley was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and his four siblings.
He is survived by his children: Judy (Neil) Fleischer, Jonathan (Nan) Yurkanis, Stephen, Christopher, and Peggy; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.
Visitation: 9:30 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial, Monday, Dec. 21, in St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 325 E 3rd St., Duluth.
