

She was united in marriage on December 29, 1972 to Charles Preston. They raised four sons. Vickie worked extensively with kids at Cotton, South Ridge and Cherry Schools. She was a member of the Teamsters and served as a fire warden for almost 30 years.
She enjoyed gardening, canning, four wheeling, fishing and sewing. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Reino Kylven; her mother, Maxine Horvath; step-father, James Horvath; mother and father-in-law, Frank and May Preston; brother-in-law, David Preston; and sister-in-law, Mary Preston.
Vickie is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Charles, of Cotton; four sons, Brandon (Lisa) of Duluth, Bryan (Brandy) of Cotton, Jeremy (Lori Edstrom) of Virginia and Cory of Grand Rapids; along with her grandchildren, Skyler, Adam, Julia, Elise, Shayna, Phylesha, Ryan. She is also survived by her siblings, Gene (Roberta) Kylven of Duluth, Judy (Tom) Schmidt of Owatonna, Mike Horvath of Duluth, Joe (Linda) Horvath of Rhode Island, Kathy Dobbins of Georgia and Patrick Horvath of Thailand; her sisters and brothers-in-law, John (Betty) Preston of Duluth, Rita (Dennis) McDonald of Superior, Paul (Barb) Preston of Duluth, Bob (Debbie) Preston of Meadowlands, Gary (Marsha) Preston of Duluth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 10a.m. until the 11 a.m. Funeral Service on Monday, July 22 at Bell Brothers Jarvi Dowd Funeral Home, 925 E. 4th Street, Duluth. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Cotton.
