

William served in the US Army in WWII, earning his American citizenship. He married Olga Zeleny on April 22, 1947, they moved to Duluth in ‘51. Bill worked as a Carman for 46 years for the DWP Railroad. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, American Legion, Good Shepherd Catholic Church, St. James Catholic Church, and enjoyed gardening and making birdhouses. Bill was very proud of his ability to provide for his wife and family over the years, he is dearly loved and will be sadly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Olga; brother John, infant sister; and brother and sister-in-law Donald and Stella Sanbeck.
William is survived by his children, Richard (Mary) of Duluth, Charlotte (Stan) Copiskey of Saginaw, Minn., Wendy (Walt) Mizinski of Sun City West, Ariz., Gary (Kathy) of Duluth, James (Cindy) of Hermantown; 12 grandchildren, Nathan, Jeffrey, William, Tina, Terra, Tanya, Jodi, Brady, Chelsey, Jennifer, Andy, James II, Christopher; 24 great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.
Visitation 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial Friday Jan. 7, 2010 at St. James Catholic Church, 715 N 57th Ave W, Duluth MN. Interment to take place at Oneota Cemetery, Fr. James Bissonette officiating.
