Catherine McKenzie

February 22, 1952November 11, 2019

It is with great sadness that we have lost a beautiful heart, soul and person in Cathy Ann (Davidson) McKenzie on November 11, 2019.

Cathy loved life. Loved to laugh. Loved her family. Loved her pets Biker and Mya, who have a new loving home here on the Island. Loved her friends. Loved her wine. And of course loved her Dave. She was Dave’s everlasting flower of enlightenment.

She will be greatly missed and is survived by her sister Pat (Nick) Garland, niece Janine Garland, brother Bill (Kathy) Davidson, her step children John (Darilynn) McKenzie, Lisa (Chris) McKenzie, Tina McKenzie and her grandchildren Dusten, Dylen, Dayten, Shian & Brodie as well as her great grandchildren McKenzie and Mikayla.

As per Cathy’s wishes there will be no formal service.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local animal shelter on behalf of Cathy.

Hi Pat. Phil Rooke recently let me know of Cathy's passing. Wow, a tough one to digest but it also bought back so many wonderful memories of Cathy and the fun we had at Maple Bay. So many years since seeing Cathy but her picture looks exactly as I remember her.
A beautiful woman, so full of life, love and laughter. Cathy loved to laugh and her smile was a treasure. I miss her but feel so lucky to have shared her friendship.

I have such great and happy memories of Cathy. We met when the Davidson family moved next door to us in Maple Bay, we rode the bus to High School, my house after school for cinnamon toast, she helping me with homework (she was so much smarter than I), learning to drive at the same time and all the myriad stuff of youth. Always a joy to be in her company and man that laugh of hers was unique and special. I will always have great memories and yes, I will miss her.

We are going to miss Cathy's laugh. She never missed a party or a day of work! She lived, loved and laughed - a lot!

Cathy - officially my mother in law, but in reality one of my sisters. I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to learn so much from you. And to have shared so many good laughs. Your patience, caring, kindness, ability to always see the positive side, love and friendship meant so much. We have shared so many good times on your "yachts", at the cabin, always welcoming us into your home. Thank you. May you re-join the family and friends you loved so much. Rest in peace my sister. Love always, Darilynne
