We are deeply saddened to announce Jacquie’s peaceful passing, at the age of 96. Jacquie is survived by a large, loving family. Her 5 children and their spouses, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her only sister Eleanor Colquhoun, who is 99 years young, and her lifelong friend Bernice McColl. Jacquie was predeceased by her devoted husband Tammas Scott, both her parents and two son-in laws. Mom’s family was the most important aspect of her life. She, at a young age worked for the income tax department in Winnipeg. Mom, then took a job at the Orchid Florist where she met and fell in love with Dad. They married June 6, 1950, and the rest was history. Five kids consumed most of Mom’s life however, she did enjoy knitting, time at Victoria Beach and travelling the world with Dad, Barbados being their most loved destination. Mom also had a career of over 50 years selling Avon and she LOVED her game shows on TV. Upon retirement from Winnipeg, Mom and Dad relocated to Cowichan Bay where they built a beautiful home. Mom was well loved by those who met her, making friends worldwide. Mom will be sadly missed more than she will ever know. Mom will be remembered by her smile, kindness and her quick wit. She will be held deeply in her family's hearts forever.
On behalf of the family, we would like to thank the many caregivers who deeply cared for Mom. You are all angels.
We were ever so blessed to have had such a wonderful Mom, Gramma and GG who lived a long, beautiful, full, happy life. Until we meet again!
At Mom’s request, there will be no service. A celebration of Mom’s remarkable life may be held at a later date.
