Jane Markert, died peacefully in her sleep at home on Thursday May 2, 2019 in Duncan BC. Jane was born July 26, 1925 in St. Thomas, ON. She moved to the Vulcan area in 1946. Jane enjoyed many years with her family in Ensign AB and Kitimat BC, before relocating to Duncan.
Jane was predeceased by her loving husband, Russel Markert (decd.1992), and leaves behind sons; Douglas, Bradley and Daniel, daughters; Ellen Pelto and Colleen Butler, 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and an extended family of Axfords and Markerts who will miss her terribly.
Jane will be remembered as a loving and kind person, with a great sense of humor and infectious laugh.
A tea to celebrate the life of Jane Markert will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Vimy Hall, located at 3968 Gibbins Rd, Duncan BC.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made, if desired, to BC Diabetes Association.
