Joelle was raised in the Cowichan Valley most of her life and loved the First Nations culture here, walking on the docks to look at boats and the changing leaves in Autumn.
She worked at the Westfalin Bakery for many years and especially loved handing out treats to the children who would come in.
You may have seen her walking around town. The tiny little lady who walked incredibly fast. Often her sister Tracy accompanied her, and they had a hello and a smile for everyone they met.
Joelle, along with her husband, played on the family ball team, the Hillbillies. Along with other teams, they helped start the orthodox softball league. Everyone on the team had a nickname, and hers was Snooky.
Joelle had a truly giving heart. She was very compassionate towards people and always gave a helping hand.
Joelle was a mom, and “mom to many”, a daughter, a wife, sister, niece, aunty, and friend.
Joelle always had a smile for you, kind words, and offered any help she could give.
Instead of flowers, please consider celebrating kindness. A kind word, good deed or thoughtful gesture. Joelle would love that.
