On behalf of the Zach family, deepest condolences to John's family and to his siblings on the loss of someone who made the world a better place.  The Shaback family were our closest neighbours to the north of our farm in the Keephills district.  Our parents spoke highly of them and we have good memories of this fine family.

To Nina and family--my sincere condolences.  I remember with great fondness the summer I spent with John and others in the "rock haul" at Grande Cache.  I enjoyed John's sense of humour as well as his work expertise, and recognized how important and dear his Christian faith was to him.  My prayer is that the comforting touch of God may be your daily experience.

May the peace which comes from the memories of love shared, comfort you now and in the days ahead.  With sympathy and the assurance of our prayers for you all..........

Nina it's very sad when we have to say goodbeye to a loved one especialy a person like John.You and especial John are one of the reasons that I and Flo serve the Lord today.Our visit with you and John was a real blessing and we'll miss that natural sweet spirate John  had.I'm realy going to miss the memorial as we are in Pheonix, however WE will hold you up in prayer.I know the Lord will be a blessing to you in this hour of need. Just to say I do remember John Shaback, and his family,We lived in thier house when we moved to Keephills,Alta.  They were very good to us.  I know that John is very happy right now, he is in heaven. I will always remember him.

My deepest condolences go out to you Nina on your recent loss.  John was such a wonderful man in so many ways and I feel blessed that I was part of his life through my dad.

John was a childhood friend, living on the next farm to us.  
Our family (Maciocha)of 12 lived with his family of 10, in the same house when our family moved from Iron River to Keephills.  
John went to school with my brother Joe and sisters Ruth and Neda.  Henry and Joe also worked in Shabacks lumber camp.
