Lorraine Lamarche

May 31, 1947 – July 24, 2012

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lorraine Lamarche. Lorraine passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec and moved to Shawnigan Lake to be with Marcel, where they were married Oct. 4, 1969. They moved to Lake Cowichan in 1970 where they have resided ever since. She had a wonderful life and will always be fondly remembered as ‘Sunshine’ from her 15 years of work with Girl Guides.

Lorraine is predeceased by her parents Lionel and Irene Surprenant. She leaves behind her husband Marcel, son Jamie (Yasuyuki), daughter Sarah (Mark), aunts Gertrude and Florence, sister Sylvia (Roger), brothers Roger (Ginette), Paul, Gerald (Madeleine), George and many, many nieces, nephews and their families from all over Canada to New Zealand.

There will be a small service held Tuesday August 7 at 1:00 PM at First Memorial Funeral Services followed by a reception located at 375 Brae Road, Duncan. As a request by the family, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society will be accepted in lieu of flowers.
