Shirley passed away Thursday November 20, 2025 at Cowichan Hospice House, at the age of 86. Predeceased by her husband Denis in 2005. She will be forever remembered by her daughter Susan (Chris), grandson Ethan. Son Raymond (Adele), granddaughter Stephanie (Reg) and her great Granddaughter Violet.
Shirley enjoyed golfing and curling and had especially happy memories of reaching the BC Seniors Curling Championship in 1992, where they were runners up. She was also very proud of her 20 + years as a volunteer at the Chemainus Thrift Store, where she met and remained friends with many of the other volunteers.
The family would like to thank Dr Manhas for his care over many years, as well as the Doctors and staff at Cowichan Hospice, and the nurses from Ladysmith Community Nursing who cared for and offered support to mom over many months.
At Shirley’s request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chemainus Auxiliary or Cowichan Hospice House.
