Betsy Olia Bowman Hines

On Saturday, September 17, 2017, Betsy Hines went home to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness. She was born Betsy Bowman on May 8, 1934 in Snake Creek, Virginia to James Garfield and Rader Mae Bowman. Betsy spent most of her of childhood in West End, North Carolina and later met her husband James (Jim) Hines in Fayetteville North Carolina. They were married in San Antonio, Texas on July 19, 1955. She was wonderful wife to her husband, a great mother to her sons, and a fabulous grandmother to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a loving aunt to scores of nieces and nephews throughout North Carolina, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Hines of Arlington, Texas; her two sons, Tony Hines and his wife Denise Hines of Hardin, Texas Craig Hines and his wife Maria Hines of Irving, Texas, six grandchildren and eleven

great-grandchildren, her sister, Marie Richardson and three brothers, Red Bowman, Dink Bowman, and Rusty Bowman. She is preceded in death by three brothers: Al Bowman, Nat Bowman and Mike Bowman.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM and funeral services 11:00 AM at David Clayton Funeral Home, 200 West Center Street, Duncanville, Texas. The graveside service will be at 12:30 pm at Little Bethel Cemetery, Duncanville, Texas.
