Dennis Ray Johnson Sr.

Dennis Johnson Sr. was called home at the age of 65 on February 8, 2019. Dennis was born on January 18, 1954, in Jasper, TX to A.D. and Dessie Mae Johnson. He and family relocated to Longview, TX where he was raised before relocating to Dallas, TX at the age of 12 years old, and where he would live out his legacy. He attended Liberty Christian Revival where he accepted Christ as a teenager, and where he would serve as a guitar player in the music ministry.

Dennis met his wife Evelyn Johnson and son Frederick Brewster in 1981. They were married in 1983. To this union a son and a daughter were born, Mirachal and Dennis Johnson Jr. Dennis was employed with Rock-Tenn Paper Mill as a maintenance mechanic and ended his career 25 years later as the Union Vice President. He ended his career as the Union President.

Preceded in his death, his father and mother; sisters: Carolyn Lavelle Fuller of Providence, RI; Mozella Rhodes of Dallas, TX; Deborah Johnson of Fort Worth, TX; Imogene Johnson of Beaumont, TX; Angela Finney of Fort Worth, TX;brother: Hobert Willis Rhodes of Dallas, TX; A.D. Johnson Jr. of Chico, CA.

Dennis leaves to cherish his wonderful memories: His wife: Evelyn Joyce Johnson of almost 35 years. His 3 children: Frederick Brewster, Mirachal Johnson and Dennis Johnson Jr. Sisters: Rosie Lee Johnson-Smith of Longview, TX and Adell Smith of Fort Worth, TX Brothers: Habert W. Rhodes of Beaumont, TX, Kenneth Rhodes of Desoto, TX, and Charles R. Johnson of Dallas, TX. Grandchildren: Frederick J. Brewster II, Rashard J. Brewster, Natalie E. Brewster and Leigha Ray Johnson. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
