Elias Joseph Hrncir, age 93, of Dallas, Texas passed away on Friday May 18, 2018. Elick was born to Joseph and Karoline (Vecera) Hrncir on November 21, 1924 in La Grange, TX. He married the love of his life Florence (Adamcik) Hrncir on June 5, 1950.
He was a member of the United States Air Force, which he proudly served for 22 years. During this time he and Florence were blessed with three children, Judy, Jane and Rick.
After retiring from the service, the couple made Dallas home where he worked for Ford Motor Company in Oak Cliff and Duncanville until retirement.
Papa, as he was known to the family, was an animal lover and enjoyed feeding his squirrels and birds. An avid Texas Rangers fan, he never liked to miss a game. Also, any family get together was always enjoyed especially if it involved a poker or domino game.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Joe Hrncir and sister, Martha Baron.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Florence, daughter Judy and son-in-law Steve Anderson, daughter Jane and son-in-law Michael Bender, son Rick and daughter-in-law Margie, grand-daughters Cheryl Wright and Katie Trojacek and great-granddaughters Savannah and Alyssa Wright.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at David Clayton & Sons Funeral Home, Duncanville,Texas. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., followed by recital of the holy rosary.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018, 10:00a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Lancaster, Texas. He will be laid to rest at the Veterans National Cemetery in Dallas, TX.
