Helen Mae Goodnough

October 30, 1928June 25, 2019

God picked one of his favorite flowers, Helen Mae (Whittington) Goodnough, 90, of Duncanville, TX, to come home on June 25th, 2019 at Good Life Senior Living, Duncanville, TX.

Celebration of Life services will be held Saturday at 11:00am, July 27th at David Clayton and Sons, 200 W Center St, Duncanville, TX.

Helen was born in Purdy, Missouri to Ada and Lee Welch Whittington on October 30th, 1928. She graduated from Joplin High School. Following high school, Helen worked at a local radio station cutting commercials. She then followed her dreams of flying and became a Flight Attendant for American Airlines. She always spoke of her love of flying and traveling and eventually was able to make a trip to one of her favorite places, Paris, France. She later enjoyed a career in banking operations and bookkeeping. Helen will be remembered most as a loving mother of three sons, a Grandmother and good friend. She had a wonderful heart and always put others ahead of her own needs.

Helen is survived by sons Mark Goodnough, Maury Goodnough and wife Carol, Christopher Goodnough and wife Debi; Grandchildren, Mackenzie Goodnough, Chara Green, Christine Raymond, Cassie Imas, Alex Raymond, and a host of other extended family and friends. Helen was the last of her Whittington siblings: Carl, Dixie, and Don.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to staff and caregivers at New Horizons Hospice, Good Life Senior Living, and the loving support of Helen’s good friends. Ashes will be laid to rest in Carmel, CA during a private family service.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Lung Association.
