Howard is my cousin & my god brotherso he has been in my life since I was born, It's hard to even stand here to express my feelings right now but I know if I don't he will find a way to make me pay for it. Tia Gloria use to take care of me when I was toddler, so of course he use me as a dress doll. He would dress me up, do my hair and even changed my name to Crystal. I was his make believe child to strangers we would come across, and people would believe him. Growing up he was always so close to my sisters, my brother and myself because my parents are his god parents and he spent so much time with us. He always had us laughing with him or yelling at himhe lived with my parents for a good while even after we lost my father him and I would sit on the porch and talk about all the trouble they would get into together while my mom was at work. If you know Howard then you know he could throw down in the kitchen, but that also mint he was about to make a mess all over the place because he could not seem to cook and clean at the same time. If anyone has ever lived there life to the fullest was him and he didn't care what anyone said, he wanted to be loved by everyone as he loved them. He was such a friendly person, he could meet you at a party and sit there and talk your ear off as if he has known you forever. I have comfort knowing we shared a tight bond, I knew how much he loved me and he knew how much I loved him. The nickname Dogface as some of you may know came about when him and I were cooking dinner at my sister's house, I was helping him out and did something wrong and he just pushed me out the way and says to meMOVE OUTTA THE WAY OH'DOGFACE and was making fun of me. From that point on I called him Dogface, it was a joke he use to make fun of me and the name just stuck with us to where even all of the kids called him dogface. Him and I laughed, CRIED, YELLED, fought with one another but we could never be stay mad at each othera few days later I would call him to come over and curl my hair then we would fight again because he wasn't paying attention and started burring my hair, we never had a dull moment and now who would've known that he would have to leave us so suddenly and so fast. It's so hard to accept the fact that your gone but I'll will never forget all the wonderful memories we have and I will forever cherish them, you will forever be in my heart. I'll always be you little NanaI love you.

My deepest condolences to the Garcia family. I met Howard through my good friend Bel. He was a lovable person and there was always laughter in the air when he was around. Howard will be missed as I knew him. May the Lord above give the family strength to heal in time as days go by.

My heart dropped when Dominique told me my best friend past I never would have met my husband Jojo or had my 10 beautiful children if it wasn't for u Howard /Selena I love u so much r.i.p and prayers to all the family the kids love you and u will be deeply missed

This cant be true. This is just a bad dream. I have many texts from Selena on 8/21/16. The last txt that I received from Selena said that she was about to go home and that she would text me when she was home so I can pick her up so I can take her out to eat. I met Selena as "Howard The Duck' when she was 15 and I was 17. Are favorite place was JUGGS in the 90's. I had the famous 1995 Black Ford Mustang convertible with the roll bar. Selena used to do flips on that roll bar while we were doing 80 on the freeway!!! There will never be another "Howard The Duck Selena"! NEVER!!! I am still in shock. I love you to the bottom of my heart my dear beautiful lovely crazy friend! My heart and soul is crying for you and I just cannot take that comfortable breath knowing that you have slipped away from us. You are front and center with being one of my absolute true "old school" friends. Fly high Selena and open that fresh cold beer in heaven!!! I m sure that you have everyone laughing up there! ..... I will go to Mountain Creek Lake in Oak Cliff tomorrow and watch the for you baby.........Just like we used to in my Mustang Convertible back in the 90's. I will cry for you all night tonight and when I wake up in the morning, I will stop because I will hear you saying...."Get over it"! ....... Fly high my beautiful dove....FLY HIGH! God broke the mold when he made you Selena. I used to say, what was god thinking when he made you because you were a mess!! And I mean that with complete love in my heart. The world is such a sad place without you baby. And when I was down with the blues, you knew exactly what to say to get me going through the day. And you know me Selena, I always had to have a Ford Mustang because that is the car that made us a team. I cannot believe that you were sitting in my Mustang just a few weeks ago. And every time right after I would drop you off at night, you would be texting and calling me that you left something in my car. Whether it was an earring, or something fell out of your bag, I would find it and take it back to you the following day. Well, guess what? Last night I was driving home from the store and something caught my eye on the passenger floor board, ..... I found that earring that you were looking for a few weeks ago....I am just waiting to hear from you so I can go take it to you. You know what sweetie?????...On second thought, I think that I will keep this one, if you don't mind. I LOVE YOU BABY, And I will keep going from time to time to Mountain Creek Lake and watch the sun go down. Just like you and I used to do. Just the two of us......
