Jack Melvin Weaver, 89, passed away peacefully at his home in Duncanville, Texas on July 11th, 2020 with his wife and son by his side. Jack was born on September 23, 1930 in Manorville, Pennsylvania to Spurgeon Weaver and Nora (Weister) Weaver. He married Barbara Jean Smoyer on March 17, 1951 in a chapel at Ft. Myer, Virginia where he proudly served in the US Army as a military policeman and Honor guard. This year they celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary. Jack was a factory worker most of his career, manufacturing and shipping automotive bumpers and performing equipment maintenance for North American Rockwell Corp. Jack loved serving the Lord and helping others in many ways. He was an usher and greeter for several years at First Assembly of God Church in Warren, OH. He later attended Grace Fellowship Church in Grand Prairie, TX. Jack enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. And, he enjoyed attending family gatherings at the ol’ farmhouse in Falls Creek, PA. where he grew up. Those gatherings always included an outdoor “shootin’ match” which everyone enjoyed. His hobbies included woodworking, wood carving, and working jigsaw puzzles.

Norm Patton, his sister June and husband Rev. Tom Veale, his sister Nancy and husband Dennis Persin, three grandchildren, Jennifer Weaver, Angela Weaver, Paulette Harris and husband Clem, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Another hobby he had was looking for things with metal detectors. I remember the times we had together. I will cherish them always.

Jack was a gentle, loving man of God who blessed everyone he came in contact with. Marty and I are so saddened by your loss, but we know Jack’s going home was glorious! Your family is in our prayers.
