Jorge Orlando Ventura joined his ancestors, passing in his home on August 29, 2017 at only 23 years of age. He was born April 16th, 1994 at Parkland Hospital where he also received treatment for his battle with Gastric Cancer towards the end of his time with us. Long ago, he asked to speak privately with an uncle, saying he understood what Jesus had done for him in forgiveness of his sins and requested to be baptized in the faith when he was around 12 years old. He received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, being baptized shortly thereafter. Jorge grew up in South Oak Cliff and remained focused on his studies regardless of what goes on in the barrio. He attended Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy and graduated high school with a Diploma and an Associate Degree in Language Arts from DCCCD Cedar Valley College by age 17. He went on to UT Arlington College of Business and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business by age 21. Jorge is survived by his mother Sonia Borja; father Eleno Ventura; brother Joe Abonza; sisters Leticia Ventura, Marisela Abonza and Yenni Roberts. He is also survived by his grandmother MariaElena Alvarez; great-aunt and uncle Elena and Lito Carranza; aunt and uncle Flor and Regino Ventura; aunt and uncle Elisa and Terry Williams; aunt and uncle LaToya and Erick Alvarez; aunt Noemi Valladares; aunt Norma Beltran; aunt and uncle Alba and Will Lopez; cousins Andrew Vanderbur, Jasmine Vanderbur, Javier Ventura, Carlos Ventura, Destiny Alvarez, Jennifer Molina, Maribel Carranza, Angelica Valladares, Nohemi Lopez, Eliasar Lopez, Robert Carranza, Alfredo Beltran, Bailey Guthrie and Alex Guthrie; as well as his loving girlfriend Olivia Mitchell who was with him through his toughest times. Jorge was taken from us way too soon and there will never be another like him. He prayed for reconciliation between him and His Salvation Jesus of Nazareth prior to going home. Jorge was a positive person who enjoyed life. He took it a step further and wanted to understand both the positive and negative aspects of the world and do what he could to make it better. Jorge spent most of his time working hard on his education, making relationships with new people and helping his family with anything he could while managing to put a smile on the face of everyone he knew. Jorge will be sorely missed in more ways than can be recounted. One thing is certain, he will not be forgotten and he will live on through all who knew him. Jorge taught us to stay strong even in the hardest of times. Although it was difficult in the end, he taught us not to give up, even in the unlikeliest of situations. Jorge was and will forever be an inspiration to us all. Reach and achieve far more than what is believed possible, beat the odds.
