

Leonard Nathan Story, 10/25/1962 – 07/31/2016. Beloved husband, father, brother. Len had a distinguished military and civilian career of 34 years, beginning with his assignment to the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Guard at Arlington National Cemetery and, later, as a tower controller at the Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi, TX. His FAA air traffic controller career began at the Fort Worth ARTCC and later took him to FAA Headquarters in Washington, D.C., and the FAA Command Center in Virginia; he was always looking for ways to make the world a better place for the en route controller! He attended Duncanville High School and received a degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle University. He was born in Dallas, TX, on October 25, 1962, to Leonard Murrow Story and Edna Mae Stalcup Story, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by brother Tommy Story, brother Eddie Story and previous wife Diane Gallatin Story. He is survived by wife Peggy Wade, children Christina Wren and husband Casey, Haley Korbel and husband Jake, Justin Story and wife Jordan, Jessica Cowan and husband Robert, and Catherine Story. His grandchildren include Colten, Carley and Cora Wren, Jenna Story and Everly Korbel. He is also survived by his brother David Story and wife Lynette, and his beloved and aptly-named Golden Retriever, Blue. Services will be on Friday at 11:00 AM at David Clayton and Sons Funeral Home, 200 W. Center St., Duncanville, TX, followed by internment at Little Bethel Memorial Park, 1803 Cedar Hill Road, Cedar Hill, TX, with David Story officiating. Len enjoyed hiking and photographing our nation’s magnificent public lands. In lieu of flowers, Len invites you to remember him with a contribution to your favorite park or wildland.
