

With a saddened heart, we announce the passing of Nettie Ruth Foster on August 20, 2020 in Dallas, TX. She was born on June 23, 1925 to Polk and Lula Steele. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. As a faithful Christian, she was a member of the first Baptist Church of Cedar Hill where she worked in the nursery for a number of years. She was active in the Order of the Eastern Star for 50 years. In her younger years, she loved working in her yard, growing beautiful flowers and coloring as well as sewing and crocheting. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, Andrew and Narcisses Daugherty, sisters, Ruby Floyd and Allie Goff, brother, J.K. Steele and son-in-law, Larry Marks. Those to cherish her memory are her survivors, husband, James Wilson Foster; son, James Foster and his wife, Michelle; daughters, Paula Hernandez and her husband Paul and Janice Marks; grandchildren, Diane Lamar, Troy Horton, Stephanie Bullard, Tommy Hernandez, Destiny Richards, Cole Foster and Trent Foster; 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held at David Clayton & Sons Funeral Home – Duncanville, TX on Tuesday August 25, 2020 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service in her honor will take place at the funeral home at 2:00 pm on Wednesday August 26, 2020. Interment to follow at Little Bethel Memorial Park.
