Condolences to the McKissick family.  My husband gave Communion to his parents years ago and we remember all of you fondly.

To my daddy,I will miss talking everyday to you from Austin.I know you won't be bored anymore 'cuz you'll have mama to watch Wheel of Fortune with. Bet you'll even get to play poker with Owen, Sherry and Big Terry.Thank you for being my daddy--you and mama made me the person I am today.I love you and you will always be in my heart! I can remember being a little girl and so scared of you because you were so tall and big.  But as I grew older I found out why God makes grandpas strong and fearless, so they can raise a strong and fearless family.  You will be missed but there is comfort in knowing that your heart is whole again with grandma.  We miss you and love you!  Until we meet again...see you later.

Dear Terry, Carl, Craig, and Lori,

I will always remember and always hold dear our childhood and adolescent times growing up. A huge part of that wonderful memory is because of your Mama and Daddy. The Holiday times as well as momentous occasions throughout the years would never have been complete without Uncle Owen's bodacious laughter and his purposeful stride he always possessed. When Uncle Owen was in the room, you knew it! The immense love that he had for his children and the manner in which he would always beam with pride always was apparent. On the occasions he would pay a visit to my Daddy and I at the shop was always sort of like Christmas day to me. When we saw him pull up, we stopped whatever we were doing and would all sit down to chat. I loved his visits. I can't begin to tell you how much I miss those days. I want you all to remember something that I have learned. When our loved ones have passed into Spirit, they are NOT gone from us. Ever! Remember that they have ascended to their highest form in order to be reunited with God. Uncle Owen's work as a mortal has been completed and the Lord knew the time was at hand for him to now progress to his Eternal Life. Uncle Owen's new life with God and the Angels - like all of our departed Loved Ones - will be filled with many activities that the human body is physically limited to handle. Uncle Owen is now set free from those constraints! He has now been Blessed with immortality and will traverse the earth to come to the aide of so many others in peril. His Life Skills were learned well and God knew it was time for him to ascend to that higher plane of existence. But I will tell you that their first order of business once reaching Heaven, is returning in Spirit to watch over all of his children and grandchildren. Our parents become instant Guardian Angels upon their arrival to Heaven. I know how much you love him and he knows as well. We can be happy that he has now been reunited with Aunt Dorothy, Sherry, Owen Allen, Uncle Johnny, and Nanny and Papa. Can you just imagine their rejoice when seeing Uncle Owen reaching them! Uncle Owen - as well as all of our departed family - never really leave us! They have merely been transformed into a Divine energy that is beyond our comprehension. One day we too, will all learn more about these wondrous mysteries of God. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you all. Please try to think of your Father's passing as his new rebirth. No more suffering or pain. He is in an ecstasy at this very moment that we mere mortals of flesh can not begin to comprehend. Whisper his name! Whisper to our departed Loved Ones and continue to call out to them always! I know they hear our every word, concern, and desire. If we would only concentrate and meditate, you will discover that they reside right beside us in God's Realm.
