Raymond Anderson Williams was born on January 25, 1948, to Rulon Arave and Donna Anderson Williams.

Ray was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, he was called back to the Lord on February 8th, 2019. His life was lived with love, he loved his family, he loved his friends and he loved his church but above all he loved God. He loved to cook and he shared his cooking with everyone he could, shared it with friends, co-workers, family and visiting missionaries.

Ray worked for Union Pacific Railroad since he was 18 years old for 42 years - dedication rarely seen these days. He was respected and well liked and even a hero to some people. He was a very generous man always doing charity work, much of which he did not discuss as he believed goodwill came from the heart and not something to be boastful about... in fact there are many acts of kindness and giving that his family will never be aware of as it was just between him and the person he served, as well as God. Ray was also an amazing artist, he painted, sculpted, did woodwork and was also a talented writer of many short stories and poems. He excelled with all artistic mediums, except music! He loved to sing but unfortunately he could not carry a tune, but we will forgive him that as he sung with such regardless joy. He was always one of the first to volunteer to help anyone in need, no matter how big or small the need and no matter how big or small the sacrifice.

There is so much to say about what a great man Ray was, because he truly was, and we already miss him dearly.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Garcia Williams; his brother Robert Williams and wife Loana; sister-in-law Eileen Bodell and husband John; sister-in-law Nadine Williams; his children Tracey Rae Burkhart, Gustine Rae DeVos and Ray Anthony Williams; his grandchildren Onneleigha Aa, Braedon Chad DeVos, Zane Anderson DeVos and Paxton Ray DeVos; his great-grandchildren Warren Allen Vandugenbille, Kara LeeAnne Migliaccio and Darren Henning Migliaccio; His nieces and nephews Derek Williams, Lisa Dalling, Erica Norton, Zac Bodell, Dominic Bodell, Lane Williams, Jennifer Williams, Tiffany Williams, Jeff Williams, Sara Cogswell, Rachel Warren and Beth Siegan; as well as grand nieces and grand nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Tammey Rae Williams and his brother Richard Williams.

My dear sweet father is gone and words cannot convey the depth of my sorrow. We weren’t ready for him to leave us but God called him home. My dad was my light, my hero and all the goodness in this world manifested through him in my eyes. He was the most caring, compassionate, giving and humble man I have ever met. I can’t tell you how lucky I am to have had him as a father. He was my constant teacher and I never felt more loved or more safe than when he held me in his arms. I miss him so much and I am so sad that he is gone! His faith was unshakable and I know he is with God. I love you daddy!!!

Brother Williams and I used to spend about an hour after church every Sunday handling offerings and making the bank deposit. Had we not talked so much we probably could have done the finances in less than 10 minutes, but we always got to sharing stories and having a good time. He is a good man, and I’m so glad for the time we shared and to have been able to see him when he recently came to North Little Rock.

Brother Williams was a member of our ward for a long time a while back, before he move. We are so grateful that he was able to pay us a visit a couple of months back. We are truly sorry for the loss of this kind and generous man.
