Sharon Evans passed from this life into her eternal home on Monday, December 10. She was 76 years old. She was a beloved member of Mountain Creek Community Church.
Sharon was born on October 14, 1942 in Long Beach, California, where she lived until the family moved to Colorado. After graduating high school, she attended Oral Roberts University. In her business career, Sharon served as an administrative assistant with the Thompson-Knight Law Firm in downtown Dallas for 25 years. Following her retirement from that firm, she became Receptionist and Wedding Coordinator for Mountain Creek Community Church. She also oversaw the Missionettes Ministry and led the Children’s Choir.
Sharon lived a full and joyful life. Friends will always remember her beautiful singing voice. She was a soloist with the Church Choir. She ministered in song with her dad and mom, Clifford and Aletha Evans, many years with Freedom Outreach Ministry into the Texas Department of Corrections. She brought hope to the prisoners. She also served on the board of Freedom Outreach.
Sharon had a wonderful sense of humor, a ready smile, a tender heart. She was always willing to help anyone in need. She fought a gallant battle against Parkinson’s Disease until the Lord took her home.
She is preceded in death by her father Clifford Evans and her mother Aletha (Hawkins) Evans. She also had a brother Ronald Lloyd, and a sister Carol Lynn who both died in childhood.
Sharon is survived by her loving church family. Special thanks to Ron and Janet Syrcle and JoAn Summers who cared for her in her long illness. She is also survived by her cousin, Karen Paiz in Trinidad, Colorado. She will remain in loving memory of the many, many people her life touched.

Funeral arrangements are with David Clayton and Sons Funeral Home in Duncanville. Viewing is scheduled for 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Monday, December 17 at Mountain Creek Community Church, 5950 Eagle Ford Drive, Dallas 75249. The funeral is at 10:00 on Tuesday, December 18 at the church. Interment will follow at Little Bethel Cemetery in Duncanville.
