Shirley Margaret Stokes

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful wife, mother and Nan with family by her side at Idlewyld Manor on Thursday, October 1st, 2015. She leaves behind her husband of 62 years, Ernest, her children Randy, Brenda (George), Valerie (Kevin), Bonnie (Jim), Donna (Randy), Russ (Monica) and Mike. Loving Nan to 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Shirley is survived by her sisters Toppy (Charlie), Marilyn (Jack), youngest brother Richie (Nancy) and sister-in-law Mona. She is pre-deceased by her parents Florence and George Biggley, sisters Renie and Linda (Gary), brothers George (Anna), Bill (Helen) and Ken (Mona). She will be fondly remembered by Ann, Jennifer, Kristina, Drew and Laura, many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff and nurses at Idlewyld Manor for the care and compassion shown to our mom during her brief time there. A special thank you to Muriel Stokes for the time, comfort and support you continued to show our parents, especially mom throughout the past couple of years as she struggled with many health issues. We will be forever grateful to you. In accordance to mom’s wishes, cremation has already taken place. A celebration of her life will take place at a later date, details to follow.
