We bid farewell to “Whiskey” Bill who shifted gears to the ultimate destination: heaven, under the care of the compassionate palliative team at St. Peter’s Hospital. Bill, a man whose cars were an extension of his very soul, left us with an exhaust trail of unforgettable memories. Bill was not just a driver but a true artist behind the wheel. To him, every drive was a masterpiece, every road a canvas. Top off music blasting, and a smile that could light up a traffic jam.
Bill's final journey was nothing short of legendary. As he ascended to heaven, he did so in style—driving his trusty Targa.
Though Bill has left the earthly roads behind, his spirit lives on in every open highway and scenic route. We imagine him driving endlessly on a heavenly road trip, free of speed limits and tolls, with the wind in his hair and eternal green lights ahead.
So, if you find yourself driving and feel a sudden urge to take the scenic route, know that it’s probably Bill, whispering from above: "Keep driving, my friend, and make every mile count."
Rest in peace, Bill. May your heavenly drives be as joyous as the ones you had here on Earth.
Family still driving; co-driver Fern Watson, brother Brad (Marg Gadsby), sister-in-law Lynne Robins (Dennis) along with their crew (Tracy, Danica, Jason (Laura Agostini). Tracy was pit crew lead for the final race prep.
He proudly looked after his Westdale home, purchased by his grandparents in the early 1930s and lived there with teammate Fern for 38 years. The family will mark Bill’s passing privately. If you are able, make a gift to the charity of your choice.
Special thanks to the following teams:
- Christine (Dr. Szarka)
- Paramedics (great care but according to Bill, “the suspension needs some work”)
- Home Care
- St. Joseph’s
- St. Peter’s
- ZOROTECH (we treat every car as if were our own)
