Mrs. Alice Marie McLamb Jones, age 87 of Greenville, formerly of Dunn died on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.

Mrs. Jones was born in Harnett County on November 12, 1932 the daughter of the late William Preston McLamb and Ada Stewart McLamb and is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Hoover Jones on December 17, 2012 after 64 years of marriage. She is also preceded in death by brothers, John Ervin, Wallace, Herbert, and Arthur McLamb and sisters, Christine Cook, Mae Jackson, Gladys Spell and Shelby Jean Barefoot.

Mrs. Jones worked at Block Industries in Benson, NC for over 35 years before retiring. She has been a member of St. Matthews Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church for over 40 years. She loved going to church and loved her church family.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerome Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens Cemetery.

She is survived by: A Daughter: Judy Jones Tart & (husband) Vick of Greenville, NC. A Son: Dennis Ray Jones, Sr. & (wife) Pamela of Angier, NC.

Grandchildren: Dennis Ray Jones, Jr. & Heather of Erwin, NC Heather Jones of Raleigh, NC

Great Grandchildren: Lucas & Payton Moore, Rebecca Ann Jones and Waylon Hoover Jones. She is also survived by her beloved 18 year old cat, Tinkerbell and her pet Cockatiel, Nicholas The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 28, 2020 from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home, prior to the funeral. I never personally met Mrs. Marie but her Daughter Judy is my Sister in Christ at Pleasant Hill OFWB Church. She talked about her Mother like she was the most precious person on earth. I’m sure to have raised such a wonderful daughter she was just that. Please know my heart & Prayers go out to the family. Love & Hugs, Sue & Scott Edwards
