Barbara Anne Longman
February 16, 1954 – November 3, 2019
Ms. Barbara Anne Longman, age 65, of Spring Lake, departed this life on Sunday, November 3, 2019. Barbara loved the outdoors and being out in nature. She had an affinity for water, whether it be spending time at the ocean or just admiring a babbling brook. She found her life’s mission in her work as a Guardian Ad Litem for Harnett County and the work she did advocating for the children who had found themselves in the foster care system. Barbara enjoyed the time she got to spend with her grandchildren. In a recent visit with them, she was out playing with them and all of a sudden there came up a rain shower, but that didn’t bother them, they just kept right on playing in the rain. She was content in the little things, like sitting at home snuggled up with her Peekapoo, Wilson, while drinking a big cup of coffee.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Cornelius and Concetta Watson.
Barbara leaves behind to honor her legacy, her two children: Amanda Longman of New York and David Longman of Spring Lake; the father of her children: Alan Longman of Raleigh; two grandchildren: Damien Longman and Liam Longman both of New York; brother: David Watson; brother-in-law: Robert Longman, Jr.; and cherished loved ones: Brody and Keegan.
You are cordially invited to a time of visitation from 1:00PM until 2:30PM on Friday, November 8, 2019 at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home. Order of Christian Burial will commence immediately following the visitation on Friday at the funeral home with Father Joseph G. Mulroney officiating.
