OBITUARY

Rev. Bobby L. Collins

Reverend Bobby Lee Collins, age 79 of Dunn, NC, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018. He was the husband of Joyce Stone Collins; the two shared 59 years of marriage. Born on May 2, 1939, Bobby was the son of Reverend Roy Lee and Lois Johnson Collins of Red Springs. Bobby dedicated his life to serving God and serving others. He served 42 years as a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ. After retirement, he continued serving the Lord as an active member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Dunn.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Grant Collins and wife Shirley Smith Collins. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Collins; a brother, Ernie Collins of Pembroke; a son, David Collins and wife Rebecca of Chesapeake, VA; a son, Reverend Danny Collins and wife Karen of Clayton; a son, Anthony Collins and wife Renee of Nebo; and five grandchildren, Blake, Austin, Blair, Logan, and Jordan.

A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, October 21, 2018, at 4 p.m. at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church with Reverend Tim Rice and Reverend Charles Kelly officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the church and other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Dunn.

Bobby and his family were our dear friends when my husband, Raymond Pope ,was assigned the Red Springs, NC Pentecostal Holiness Church as pastor. The Collins family was one of the faithful in that church and community. Bobby was always special. My love and sympathy to the family.
