Bobby Sherrill Wilkins, age 80 of Dunn, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Betsy Johnson Hospital.

Bobby was born on December 4, 1940 in Dunn where he lived most of his life, and was the son of the late Allen B. Wilkins and Myrtle Duke and is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Clarence Lloyd Wilkins and Abner Thomas Wilkins.

Bobby served honorably in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. He was an excellent mechanic, and could fix anything back into working condition. He was a strong person who lived a simple but quiet life. He was happiest while working in his shop on any type of machinery or having lunch at Jim’s Seafood. He had a kind heart and was always willing to help others when he could.

Bobby was hospitalized on January 22, 2021 at Betsy Johnson Hospital where his health declined and where he suffered greatly until he finally found his perfect, unfaltering peace on March 27, 2021.

He is survived by two sisters, two brothers, several nieces and nephew, and special friends, Roman & (wife) Gladis, Larry and Arvalee.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Emma Johnson Cemetery in Dunn. A Service of Cromartie Miller Funeral Home of Dunn NC
