Calvin Coolidge Parker Jr.

Calvin C. Parker, Jr., age 72 of Weeks Rd., Dunn, died Sunday, January 1, 2023 at Betsy Johnson Hospital.

Calvin was born November 29, 1950 in Johnston County the son of the late Calvin Coolidge Parker, Sr. and Josephine Stewart Parker and is preceded in death by his wife, Edna Barefoot Parker. He is also preceded in death by a Grandson, Cullen Reece Parker.

Calvin worked for 26 plus years at Lundy's in Dunn and Clinton, he then owned and operated Dash Mart Convenient Stores, one in Dunn and one in Erwin until his health declined. He was a softball/baseball coach for over 30 years, coaching during the years his sons were playing and even the Women’s Adult Teams.

Calvin was raised on a farm in Johnston County where he was taught to work hard at an early age of 12. He was a hard worker all of his life. His wife and family came first, and when his grandkids came along they held a special place with him. Everyone that knew Calvin loved to be around him, he never met a stranger. He loved tractors. It was said that his wife, his grandchildren and his tractors were the 3 most important things to him.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 6, 2023 at 2:30 pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Earl Essinger officiating. Burial will follow in Erwin Memorial Park.

He is survived by: His Sons: Kevin Parker & (wife) Amy of Coats, NC.

Trent Parker & (wife) Erica of Dunn, NC.

Grandchildren: Colby Parker, Alexa Parker and Chloe Parker.

A Sister: Joan Parker Spence & (husband) Andy of Benson, NC.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 6, 2023 from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home in Dunn. One hour prior to the service. The family will also receive friends starting Wednesday night at the home of Trent and Erica Parker, Weeks Rd., Dunn, NC.
