On July 19, 1951, in Scotland Co., NC, to the late Eldon B. Jackson Sr., and Norma Grant Jackson.
A brother Colby Jackson also preceded her in death.
Edna was a loving wife, mother, her life was her family.
Edna was a faithful member of Mingo Baptist Church. Raising nine children, Edna’s mother was an angel on earth. Many in the neighborhood called her “Ma Jackson”, as a nurse, and caregiver to anyone in need. Edna loved to fish and go swimming.
She retired from First Citizens Bank as a data processor.
Her devoted and loving husband Junius Eddie Barefoot, of the home; and daughter Crystal Renee Barefoot, of Fayetteville, NC, survives her.
Four sisters also survive her, Christy Joiner, of Knoxville, TN, Karen Maijala (Craig), of De Soto, MO, Katrina Tyndall (Raymond), of Clinton, NC, and Babette Jackson, of Knoxville, TN.
Three brothers also survive her, Eldon B. Jackson, Jr. (Theresa), of Raleigh, NC, Robert Terry Jackson, of Clinton, NC, and Thomas B. Jackson Sr. (Lexie Ann), of Roseboro, NC; and a host of extended family and friends.
On Friday, May 10, 2024 from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. family and friends will gather at Mingo Baptist Church.
A celebration of life services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Mingo Baptist Church with Rev. Strickland and E.C. Maddox, officiating.
Burial will be private.
