Gregory Alan Richardson of 714 Zacks Mill Road, Benson, North Carolina departed this life on Saturday, October 6, 2018 being 22 years of age. He was born on December 7, 1995 in Aiken, South Carolina to Janet Krewson Richardson and Vincent Neal Richardson, Jr. Greg was preceded in death by his grandparents: Louise Kemp and Vincent Richardson, Sr. He was a graduate of West Johnston High School and was majoring in Biology at UNC Charlotte. Greg was a truly remarkable young man. There were no limits to his mind; if he could imagine it, he could achieve it. Greg once had a laptop that wasn’t operating at the speed he thought it should, so, rather than just accepting the inadequacy of the laptop, he went out and bought all the components needed and built a computer that satisfied his needs. He wasn’t satisfied with being mediocre or average; only the pursuit of excellence would do. Brian Tracy once said, “Excellence is not a destination; it is a continuous journey that never ends.” Those words embody all that was Greg.
Greg leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents: Jan and Neal Richardson; his soulmate: Rachel Wade; sisters: Vannessa Bland and husband Travis Adams, Jessecca Bland and Casey Pollard and husband Aaron; grandparents: Rinda Richardson, Robert Altman and Toni Oliphant; nieces and nephews: Dominick Bland, Danielle Bland, Maggie Adams, Brittany Adams, Damon Lenzina, Jaylon Lenzina, Kelson Lenzina, Caylee Pollard and Cason Pollard; aunts: Kathy Kilpatrick and Sheila Anderson; uncles: John Richardson and wife Diane, Thomas Richardson, Mike Hooper and Jeri Hooper and numerous cousins and other family and friends.
