I was a friend of John's from Clarkesville, Ga. Went to high school with him, was in most of the same classes. Walked him off the football field a few times when we were "going together." (We never really dated.) Exchanged a few letters after we moved. He and his family went to our church Clarkesville Baptist. One of my sisters was friends with Susan. Our 50th high school reunion is in August. We wanted to invite John to come, even though he didn't graduate with us. I am so so sorry to learn that he has passed. When I knew him, he was a smart and good young man, kind of shy. I see he had lots of grandkids. That's great. I'm a grandmother now too. I am so sorry for your loss. Murphy Hicks
