Mr. Leamon Roger Avery

Erwin, NC Mr. Leamon Roger Avery, 70, of Erwin died Monday, July 21. He was born September 12, 1943 in Harnett County, son of the late Lester Thomas Avery and Vernie Price Avery. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Marie Thornton and a grandson, Gary Wayne Avery. Mr. Avery was a Layout Design Artist at the Daily Record in Dunn for 6 years and retired from The Fayetteville Observer with 39 ½ years of service. A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 24 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Sammy Wood officiating. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Avery, four sons, Roger Avery and wife Dianna of Dunn, Eric Scott Avery and wife Linda of Erwin, Jerry Key of Winston-Salem and Thomas Key of the home, one brother, Melburn Avery of Erwin, three sisters, Sylvia Jernigan of Dunn, Lessie Bianco and husband Mick of Castle Hayne and Teresa Diane Griffin of Coats, grandson/son, Eric Scott Avery, II, grandchildren, Hunter Marie Key, Christopher Avery and wife Erin, Porscha Marie Avery, Alan, Austin and Michaela, and great grandchildren, Connor and Grayson Avery. The Family will receive friends Wednesday, July 23 from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. at Cromartie- Miller Funeral Home in Dunn.
