Lynwood Earl Baker

Lynwood Earl Baker, age 78, of Dunn passed away Monday, November 6, 2017 at his home. He was born April 18, 1939 in Harnett County, North Carolina the son of the late Leamon Earl Baker and Nora Waller Baker. He is preceded in death by his brother, William “Bill” Baker. Lynwood served his country in the United States Army. He later worked as a clerk in numerous convenience stores in the local area. Lynwood could be found about the home tinkering on projects, looking for a great deal at a yard sale or visiting with the people of the town. He enjoyed fishing, hunting for small game, and spending time with friends and family. He is survived by daughter, Tammy Lockamy and husband Albert of Dunn, grandchildren, Ryan Lockamy and Celeste Williford and husband Larry; great grandchildren, Nathan and Lana Williford; nieces, Annette House and husband Earl and Tina Crane and husband David; girlfriend and loving companion, Lou Jean Bradshaw and sister-in-law, Patricia Baker. A memorial service will be held 2PM Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home. I worked with Mr. Lynwood at the Sun Towel shop. He was a wonderful person to get along with, taught me a lot about being a good manager, and will be greatly missed.
