Michael Timothy “Timmy”, 56 of Godwin, passed away on Thursday November, 25, 2021 at his home. Timmy was born on October 1, 1965 in Durham, North Carolina, the son of the late Wilbur Hobby and Ora Jean Hogan Hobby and is preceded in death by a daughter Kimberly Nicole Capps.
He was a HVAC Technician on Fort Bragg.
Timmy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a likable person to everyone; never knew a stranger always putting a smile on their face. A heart of gold, sense of humor along with his laughter assuring never a dull moment. One never knew what his next word, or action would be creating an embarrassing memory for someone.
Living every day of life to its fullest facing challenges overcoming them and moving forward. Open your heart take a moment to share one of your memories with him to someone. Timmy’s memory will carry on in all the lives he touched.
He is survived by his loving wife, JoAnne Jackson Hobby, of Godwin; a daughter Elizabeth Hobby Ashworth, and husband Richard, of Newton Grove; a son-in-law Travis Capps, of Godwin, NC; three grandchildren Cheyenne Capps, Timothy Ashworth, and Abigail Ashworth; a brother Steve Rutherford, of Godwin; a sister Jennifer Scarborough, of Durham; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 3, 2021 from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home in Dunn. One hour prior to the service.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, December 3, 2021 at 7:00 pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home Chapel.
