

Peggy Ann Ivey, a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, finding eternal peace.
Born on April 25, 1939, in North Carolina, Peggy dedicated her life to faith, family, and service to others. For over 30 years, she served as a kindergarten and first-grade teacher’s aide in the Harnett County school system, where she touched the lives of countless children with her patience, kindness, and unwavering dedication.
A devoted Christian, Peggy was a faithful member of the Erwin Church of God, where she served in many roles throughout her life. She had a special gift for teaching children and shared her love of God through years of Sunday school leadership, shaping young hearts and minds in faith.
Peggy's love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherrill Ivey; her mother, Kathleen Eason; her father, Everette Barefoot; her stepfather, Woodrow Eason; and her grandmother, Beulah Pleasant.
She is survived by her three sons: David Ivey (fiancée Christine Kobylarz), James Ivey (wife Sharon), and John Ivey (partner Brenda Jackson); one brother, Everette Bentley (wife Gail); five grandchildren: Katherine Willett (husband Erik), LeAnn Ivey, James Ivey, Ashley Cribb (husband Donald), and Emily Ivey; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two special friends, Sonya Lambert Holden and Tammy West McGuffin.
Her legacy of love, service, and faith will continue to live on in those she taught, nurtured, and inspired. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2025, at the Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Cromartie-Miller. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Falcon Children’s Home.
