Roy Barbour

He was born January 4, 1935 in Johnston County, North Carolina the son of the late Marvin Love Joy Barbour and Mary Anna Wood Barbour. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Jr. Barbour, Wade Barbour and J.C. Barbour; and sister, Mary Lou Sanford.

Roy served his country honorably in the United States Army. He enjoyed camping, being on the coast fishing, gardening and doing farm work, but most of all he loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

Roy owned and operated Roy Barbour Electric Service that he founded in 1983.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 61 years, Frances Smith Barbour of Dunn; sons, Ricky Barbour and wife Joy of Roxboro, NC and Gary Barbour and wife Patty of Autryville, NC; daughter, Sharon Barbour Syck and husband David of Dunn, NC; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; brother, Melvin Barbour; sisters, Elsie Tart and Ernestine Maynard and numerous other loving family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 7 PM until 9 PM Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held 2 PM Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery in Dunn.
