Ruby Carolyn Harris, age 71 of Dunn, died Monday, January 4, 2021 at Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn.

Ruby was born on August 8, 1949 in Harnett County and was the daughter of the late Julius Telford Thornton & Ruby Erlene Eason Thornton and is preceded in death by a husband, William Ashley Harris, Sr. She is also preceded in death by a brother, Gary Thornton.

Ruby retired with Burlington Industries in Erwin, N.C.

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, January 8, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Greenwood Cemetery.

She is survived by: Sons: William Ashley Harris & (wife) Joyce of Dunn, NC Christopher Michael Harris & (wife) Tracey of Dunn, NC

A Daughter: Melissa Sue Whitley & (husband) Chris of Raleigh, NC. A Sister: Faye Guin of Dunn, NC A Sister-in-Law: Dianne Hughes Thornton of Dunn, NC

Grandchildren: Kristen Harris, C.J. Harris, Will Harris, Nick Robbins Great Grandchildren: Maddie Harris & Eli Harris. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home in Dunn and at other times at the home of Ashley & Joyce Harris.

Carolyn, was a hard working woman. She was a very good cook aways had enough to feed extra unexpected company. Carolyn enjoyed a good plate of fish . She enjoyed working in her vegetable garden. Her children will miss her greatly. Rest in peace Carolyn
