Mrs. Viola Carolyn Barefoot Coleman, age 94 of Dunn died Sunday, July 31, 2022 in Athens, Georgia.
Mrs. Coleman was born August 27, 1927 in Sampson County the daughter of the late Russell Carney Barefoot and Mary Viola Tew Barefoot and is preceded in death by her husband, David Franklin Coleman, Jr. She is also preceded in death by a son, Randy Franklin Coleman, sister, Trelloe Claire Tart and brother, Hilton Rudolph Barefoot.
Mrs. Coleman was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Dunn where she was a member of the Green, Eldridge Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Dunn Women’s Club and The American Legion Aux. Post 59.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 11:00 am at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Len Keever officiating. There will be a private burial.
She is survived by:
Her daughter: Dava C. Coleman and (husband) Thomas Koballa of Athens, Ga.
Granddaughter: Kendal C. Padgett & (husband) Joel of Athens, Ga.
A Great Grandson: James Coleman Padgett.
Sisters: Judy Bradshaw & (husband) Jack of Charlotte, NC, Janet Barrett of Dunn, NC.
Several Nieces and Nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 9:30 am – 10:30 am, followed by the service at 11:00 am at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home in Dunn.
In place of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Dunn, 309 West Broad Street, Dunn, NC 28334.
