Wilma Barefoot Lee

Wade, NC Mrs. Wilma Barefoot Lee, age 88, of Wade died Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Bethesda Healthcare in Eastover, NC.Mrs. Lee was born in Cumberland County on August 31, 1928 the daughter of the late Willie M. Barefoot & Ella Lee Barefoot. She is preceded in death by her husband Jesse M. Lee, 2 grandchildren, Christopher N. Goodwin & Cherie Griffith. She was preceded in death by her 8 brothers and was the last child living of Mr. & Mrs. Barefoot. Mrs. Lee was very family oriented, she loved spending time and caring for her family. She was known for helping her family at harvest time by shelling peas and butterbeans along with canning various fruits and vegetables. She loved cooking, gardening and shopping at Thrift Stores. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Butch Suggs and Bruce Suggs officiating. Burial will follow in Old Bluff Cemetery. She is survived by: Her daughters: Yvonne Griffith and husband Michael; Evelyen Wilson; Wanda Cross & (husband) Bruce and Rita Lee all of Virginia Beach, Va. Sons: Donnie Lee of Virginia Beach, Va. & Timothy Lee of Wade, NC. Grandchildren: Billy J. Goodwin, Jason C. Griffith, Jesse A. Few, Clint Stratton & Jake Cross, Janine Baumgartner, Renee Duecker, Rachel Griffith, Samantha Munger-Sembley & Barbara Cross. 22 Great Grandchildren & 3 Great Great Grandchildren.The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home in Dunn and at other times at the home of Wilma Lee, 7166 Lee Street, Wade, NC 28395 Condolences may be made at WWW.CROMARTIEMILLER.COM
